COACHING PROGRAMME

PFA are offering a unique opportunity to aspiring individuals who are either working towards their football coaching qualification or those who would like to choose this pathway. We want to assist and support young people between the ages of 16 – 21 to achieve a recognised qualification in football coaching with the vision of helping them to ultimately set up their own academy with support.

This programme was developed to address the lack opportunities available to young coaches who want to pursue a career in coaching after gaining their qualifications.  We recognised that although there are institutes who offer coaching qualifications programs, there is a gap between gaining the qualification and using it to have a successful career.  In some cases young people did not know how to use their qualifications to their advantage. We aim to bridge the gap and have adopted a hands on learning approach by offering an environment which offers extensive support and employment guidance to candidates.

We can offer candidates individualised mentoring support by our highly qualified FA coaches throughout the duration of the learning modules and beyond.

This course is aimed at both male and female individuals who wish to complete their coaching badges, develop their skills  and ultimately progress to employment in the football or sports industry. This is a 14 month programme, by the end of this period we would expect that you have achieved the FA level 1 and 2  in coaching, FA safeguarding course, first aid course and to have gained practical experience coaching children between the ages of 4-16.  This course aims to teach each candidate the core values of communication and working with parents and their children in addition to the key elements of community sports coaching & sports development, with a particular focus on football.

By the end of the programme successful candidates will have the necessary qualification, knowledge and skills to access employment in a variety of sports related pathway.  Candidates that demonstrate exceptional desire and a personal drive to set up their own football academy will be supported to do so.
